Our Guidance relating to Coronavirus

Update – Autumn 2020


Our first priority at Aquila is always the interests and welfare of our staff and clients.

Whilst we are not currently in Lockdown, Covid-19 infection rates are beginning to rise again across the country and we are closely monitoring developments.

In view of the current uncertainties, and in order to ensure that our service levels are maintained and we are able to operate as normally as is possible, our advisers and employees will continue to work from home for the foreseeable future.  We are maintaining a skeleton staff in our office to deal with any incoming post.

Whilst we have the facility for video meetings with clients, we appreciate that this is not always ideal and we are prepared to meet clients face-to-face, either at their homes or, in exceptional circumstances, at our office.

For the safety of our clients and our staff, face-to-face meetings will be conducted in line with current Government guidance, maintaining either a two-metre distance or one-metre plus (i.e. where all parties are wearing face masks during the meeting).   Our adviser will be happy to wear a mask irrespective of distance if this makes you feel more comfortable.  Please mention this to your adviser when arranging the meeting.

If you are attending our offices at Queen Street, we will ask you to sanitise your hands when you enter the building and we are not, unfortunately, able to offer you tea or coffee etc at this time.

If the visit is to your home, we will maintain the same protocols.

We would therefore politely request that: –

  • You do not attend or arrange an appointment if you (or any of you household) are suffering from cold or flu-like symptoms or develop a fever, a new, persistent cough, or are suffering from a loss of taste or smell. In these current circumstances, we would ask you to contact us if you have any doubts as to whether you should attend a scheduled appointment. We can always discuss matters over the telephone or by video call, and we are able to organise a number of routine transactions with providers electronically.
  • You notify us if you have returned to the UK from one of the countries that are currently subject to quarantine restrictions, as we will not be able to meet you face-to-face until you have completed the 14-day self-isolation period (and providing you are not displaying any symptoms).
