Our professional financial advisers offer advice across the wide spectrum of financial services. All our advisers have achieved the core Level 4 Chartered Insurance Institute Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent, giving them DipPFS (Personal Finance Society) or DipFA status.
The Firm also holds the specialist regulatory permission to advise on, and transact, Pension Transfers and Opt Outs in relation to Occupational Pension Schemes and Safeguarded benefits.

This qualification is achieved through attaining the highest standards under a Royal Charter granted to the Chartered Insurance Institute. Chartered status is the highest level of acknowledgement that a firm of Financial Planners can achieve.
Chris May APFS
Managing Director - Chartered Financial Planner
Born in Exeter, Chris has been in Financial Services since 1983 and has amassed extensive experience and knowledge over this period whilst working for major industry names such as Friends Provident and AXA. The profession, the legislation and the economic climate have all changed over this period and Chris believes that clients need continuing long term adaptable advice as a consequence. Chris has demonstrated his professionalism throughout his career and has achieved Chartered Financial Planner status which demonstrates achievement beyond benchmark exam standards and the highest standards of professionalism.
Chris joined Aquila in 2011 and now looks after clients with particular needs focusing on pension planning, investment strategies, tax planning, protection needs and Inheritance tax. Chris works closely with accountants and solicitors and is a Designated Pension Transfer Specialist.
Outside of work Chris is married with 3 grown up children, in his spare time he enjoys walking, gardening, running and watching Rugby.
James McSorley-Morgan DipPFS Cert CII
Senior Financial Planner
James is the newest member of the Aquila Financial Planning team and joins us with over 25 years of Financial Services Industry experience. He has spent the last 7 years working for one of the country’s largest Financial Advice firms, Skipton Financial Services and, prior to that, spent nearly ten years with Lloyds Bank’s wealth planning division. Both positions were based in Exeter and the surrounding area.
James lives on the outskirts of Exeter with his wife and three daughters. He is a keen sportsman and, although his competitive days are behind him, still plays social rugby for a local side and cricket for his village team. He is also a kayak instructor and leader with the Exeter Sea Scouts.
Adrian Ford Dip.PFS
Adrian was born in Cornwall and attended Redruth School. A keen sportsman he represented his school at rugby, football and cricket, and Cornwall and Devon schools for rugby. On leaving school he went on to represent Redruth Rugby Club as Colts Captain and at senior level before moving to Devon to pursue his professional career.
Adrian worked in Insurance sales as a Manager from an early age before moving into Bank Assurance as a Financial Adviser with Lloyds TSB, HSBC and, latterly, Birmingham & Midshires. In 1995 Adrian moved into the role of an Independent Financial Adviser with Aquila Financial Management Ltd. He holds the Chartered Insurance Institute Diploma in Financial Planning and, currently, manages over 25m of clients’ assets. He deals primarily in investments, pensions, and Inheritance Tax planning.
Adrian is married with four grown up children and during his spare time he enjoys playing golf and supporting Exeter Chiefs with his son James.
Chris Lee DipFA CeLTCI
Long Term Care Consultant
Chris has been in financial services since 1987 and became an IFA in 2001 specialising in Long Term Care of elderly clients.
He is an accredited member of SOLLA, he has clients throughout the UK and deals with every aspect of care, including identifying suitable homes, claiming benefits, disposing of assets, tidying up affairs, and implementing long term funding plans.
Stephen Greasley APFS
Chartered Financial Planner
Steve was born in Birmingham and following education, spent 7 years with The Leeds Permanent Building Society before joining one of their agents, a Financial Services Provider in 1985 and has been involved in Financial Service Companies since. Steve moved to Devon at the end of 1987 and ran the Financial Services Department for Redferns Estate Agents for 6 years and joined Aquila Financial Management in 1996.
Steve has achieved Chartered Financial Planner status which demonstrates achievement beyond benchmark exam standards and the highest standards of Professionalism. Steve works closely with Solicitors and Accountants and provides advice to clients on Investment strategies, Pension and Retirement planning, Protection needs, Inheritance Tax planning and Trust Investments.
Practice & Compliance Manager
Paul joined Aquila Financial Management in 2016, having relocated with his family to Devon from the Midlands.
Paul began in his career in Financial Services with Scottish Widows in Leicester in 1985. He transferred to the Birmingham office in 1993 and then joined a firm of Financial Advisers in Worcestershire in 1996, where he remained until he and his family decided to move to Exeter.
Paul holds the CII Diploma in Financial Planning and, as Practice and Compliance Manager, he is responsible for the day-to-day running of the office and ensuring we meet our regulatory responsibilities.
Outside of work, Paul spends time with his family exploring the Devonshire countryside and shores. He has also become a keen runner since he moved to the area and has a number of half-marathons under his belt, although he has yet to show any inclination to try the longer distance!
Aaron Langley DipPFS
Client Liaison Manager
Born in Torbay, Aaron joined Aquila Financial Management in 2016 following 8 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, including various management roles. Aaron holds the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, alongside qualifications in Mortgage Advice and Long Term Care Insurance. He is continuing with his studies with the aim of achieving Chartered Financial Planner status in the next few years. Aaron’s role at Aquila is principally to provide Technical and Paraplanning support to the advisory team.
Outside of work, Aaron is married with a young daughter. As members of the National Trust, his family enjoy quality time exploring the countryside, and, in any remaining spare time, Aaron enjoys reading and playing a variety of sports.
